My Truth

Some of us choose one life to live.

And some of us choose a few.

The twists and turns I have taken,

Are a part of how I grew.

 

It’s not my story to look back

And remember one straight line;

Whether in my heart or in my home,

Or in a profession I left behind.

 

Mine has not been a clear path,

Or a level walk upon the ground.

The ins and outs have shaped me.

As I’ve traveled both uphill and down.

 

Yet every part of my journey,

From now and back to my youth,

Is a part of my understanding

That has contributed to My Truth.

 

So, through these many lives of mine

With the wisdom I have earned;

Being blessed with the art of writing,

I can share the lessons I have learned.
