WHAT'S YOUR KARMA? WHAT'S YOUR LESSON?
SPECTIVES 2
Let's look at what each sign has and each lacks and how one signs karma is another signs lesson.
What If ... the karma is your sun sign and the lesson is the next sign?
If the next sign is the next step of growth in a life, then it stands to reason that the next sign is how you grow, how you learn the lesson, what you work toward. Because you grow into it, the next sign has what the last one lacks, so we may have to go back and forth between the signs for the easiest understanding. Don't get offended and keep in mind, this is the purest form of the sign, the beginning point, not an evolved sign.
ARIES is the INFANT, it relates to life, the energy of life, the activity of life, the movement of life, an outward action, the sense of self. ARIES does not yet experience the 5 senses, which is what is natural to TAURUS. ARIES is the self, the brain and nervous system, automatic behavior, we see as the RAM on the head (see photo below). Acting from the singular point of view, from the inside, without an interaction with the 5 senses causes ARIES to be accident prone, moving without thinking and moving without the awareness of their environment. The ARIES lesson is to be aware and interact through the 5 senses.
TAURUS is the TODDLER, it is in the receiving position, taking in the information from the 5 senses. It's interaction is with what it receives from its environment. TAURUS is the BULL wrapped around the neck (see photo). When we look at the next sign of GEMINI which possesses the ability to communicate, this is the lesson for TAURUS to learn. Because TAURUS lacks the ability to communicate and interact with other humans, TAURUS holds things in until they verbally blow over something unimportant, which results in alienating others. The TAURUS lesson is to learn to talk to another when something bothers them, to communicate their feelings instead of holding it in, causing TAURUS to have health issues with the throat.
GEMINI is the SIBLING, the first step of communicating with another human being. GEMINI speaks. Sometimes they speak and speak and speak. The verbal word is what GEMINI possesses and the TWINS are the principle of 2, GEMINI rules the lungs. CANCER is the lesson for GEMINI. CANCER rules the STOMACH and wants to feed and nurture the world, it is the emotional (water sign), the compassionate, the completion of the CHILD SIGNS. GEMINI'S lesson is to nurture themselves, the understanding, the caring and the proper nutrition.
CANCER is the last CHILD sign, the home, nesting, food and nurturing (both physical and emotional). CANCER can also find home and feel nurtured to be in nature, animals, forests, gardening, etc. As noted before, CANCER rules the STOMACH. When upset, they tend to be emotional eaters. CANCER'S lesson is what LEO rules, heart and circulatory system. CANCER'S lesson is to get up, get out, move around, dance, fall in love.
This is the end of the CHILD signs, the 1 of 1, the SELF, the HOME. LEO begins the first step out of the home, the ADULT signs, the 1 of 2, the OTHER.
LEO is PUPPY LOVE, the first step into a 1 to 1 relationship, the 1 of 2, the ADULT. LEO says, "Look how this makes me feel!" It is about the me of the relationship. There are more LEO's that are performers than any other sign. They like the center stage, the attention, that magnificent feeling. LEO's lesson is Service to Others, which VIRGO embodies. VIRGO rules the small intestines, that which breaks down and process to nourish, which is LEO's lesson, the interaction, not just the self.
VIRGO is the next natural progression of a relationship. LEO says, "Look how this makes me feel!" VIRGO says, "What can I do for you?" VIRGO is service to others. At a time when so many people are thinking about themselves, it would be reasonable to want more to be in service to others. The key is balanced giving and receiving in all things. VIRGO gives and gives and gives until there is almost nothing left. A friend was complaining about his home life, he said, "I do and do and do and no one says thanks." I said, "Who asked you?" cruel as that may sound, it's what they need to ask themselves. VIRGO's lesson is what LIBRA embodies, the conscious contract.
LIBRA is an air sign, intellectual, it is the next step in a relationship, the conscious MARRIAGE CONTRACT "I'll do this, if you do that". Balance. For my friend, the Virgo, there was never an agreement between him and his wife, for him to do those things and her to respond in a particular manner, no give and take agreement, it was all inside him. LIBRA is VIRGO's lesson. So, what is LIBRA's karma? Libra, the intellectual sign, lacks PASSION. LIBRA seeks a relationship with another, it doesn't necessarily need to be a romantic relationship but they need ONE other person to be one-to-one with. A knew a woman LIBRA whose most valued relationship was with her adult son. She valued his opinion, and conversations with him more than anyone else.
SCORPIO is PASSION. As mentioned in the article on MODALITIES, SCORPIO is a fixed sign. In fact, with all that passion, SCORPIO is the epitome of the fixed sign. It draws a circle around itself and wants to control all within that circle, their job, their home and you, if you are in that circle. SCORPIO throws their passion into everything they do. SCORPIO rules the large intestine, almost like their passion is so intense that it is trying to push out that which is no longer needed, but the circle holds it within or perhaps the circle won't let it go. The passion as you might guess, can attract drama. SCORPIO's lesson is EXPANSION beyond the circle, which is what SAGITTARIUS possesses. SCORPIO is the last of the ADULT signs. Let's move onto the parent signs.
If you look at the photo below closely, you can see that the elbow of the CENTAUR points directly to the gonads. SAGITTARIUS is the energy of REPRODUCTION and REGENERATION. That is to say, EXPANSION, the first PARENT stage of life. When expressed outside self, reproduction. When expressed inside self, regeneration. Ruled by Jupiter, the largest planet, SAG does things larger than others. I had a Sag friend, that if she did something 3 times, when she told the story, it was 8 or 9 times. Great story tellers. They do things larger, tending toward excess. Where Sag karma is dealing with excess, Sag lesson is CAPRICORN's grounding and practicality.
CAPRICORN is the old man of the Zodiac, the father, concerned with providing for his family, planning ahead. Grounded in and concerned with the practicalities in the physical. It is not a coincidence that there is a connection between CAPricorn and CAPitalism. CAPRICORN is the kid that has 3 paper routes (am I aging myself?) and 2 bank accounts, but don't worry, the older a CAPRICORN gets, the younger they get as they complete some planetary Returns. (Future article on Returns, Cycles.) CAPRICORN's karma is climbing the corporate ladder, their lesson is not to look up but to look outside their own to AQUARIUS' humanitarian efforts. CAPRICORN rules the structural system of the body, the joints, bearing the weight of the family on their shoulders.
This brings us to AQUARIUS, the HUMANITARIAN sign, wants all to be treated equally. If you remember how the earth and other planets spin on their axis, that axis being up and down and they spin side to side ... well, URANUS (that rules AQUARIUS) spins on its' side. It is often said that AQUARIUS is out in left field, that fact is that they look at things from a different perspective. Where CAPRICORN feels responsible for their own family, AQUARIUS feels responsible for the whole. I read once that if SAG is expansion and CAP is contraction, then, AQUARIUS is explosion. Sounds good to me. It is their karma, to stand outside. AQUARIUS is an AIR sign (intellectual), their actions and opinion that all should be equal, equally educated, equally respected, equally acknowledged, makes sense from an intellectual point of view but I think there it is more elementally balanced than that Seems to me that everyone being treated equally is not only of intellectual (air)valuable, but also, practical (earth), emotional (water) and actively (fire) valuable. AQUARIUS' karma still puts them out there in left field, alone and their lesson is the connections and attachments of PISCES.
PISCES is the all-loving grandparent. Because PISCES is the last PARENT sign, they have a certain compassion for all the other signs, as though they possess a little of each and can see through all eyes. This gives PISCES very bad boundaries, entangles them with all the other signs. PISCES rules the fascia of the body, the webbing that connects everything in the body. Bad boundaries is PISCES' karma. Their lesson lies in separating themselves (and keeping everything moving) from others and having a sense of self, which is what ARIES possesses. And so, we have made a complete circle.
This article is intended as a new view for you on understanding simply where you get stuck in place and looking and moving forward with understanding. It is merely a new perspective on the signs to consider for those seeking a more clear path on their journey. If this makes sense to you, use it; if it doesn't discard it.
Below is the photo of a medical chart created by Joannes de Ketham (15th Century) along with a list of the 12 signs related to 12 parts and systems of the body (the parts of the body listed are mine, not the traditional ones) for reference.
